About the Village Panchayat

The Volvoi Village Panchayat is the elected local self-government body responsible for the administration and development of Volvoi village, situated in Ponda Taluka, Goa. Functioning under the provisions of the Goa Panchayat Raj Act, the Panchayat serves as the primary institution of grassroots democracy, ensuring effective governance and delivery of essential public services to the residents of the village.

The Panchayat is headed by an elected Sarpanch, supported by Ward Members representing different wards of the village. Together, they work towards transparent decision-making, participatory governance, and the overall welfare of the community.

Governance and Administration

The Volvoi Village Panchayat plays a key role in planning and implementing developmental programs in coordination with state and central government departments. Its responsibilities include:

• Maintenance of village infrastructure such as internal roads, drainage systems, street lighting, and public spaces
• Implementation of government schemes related to sanitation, housing, water supply, and social welfare
• Issuance of official certificates and records, including birth, death, residence, and no-objection certificates
• Promotion of cleanliness, public health, and environmental protection within the village
• Encouraging citizen participation in Gram Sabha meetings and local decision-making
